To get started, pledge to run on June 17th here. Then, on June 17th, get out there and run under the full strawberry moon. After you’ve run (and maybe showered? Or not.) just log your miles. You can automatically link your Strava account or enter your miles manually on the Chase the Moon website. Remember, your goal is 6.7 miles. It's cool if you do more (overachiever.) If you come up short (we won't tell your run club) feel free to hit the pavement again to get over the goal.
Nope! This is a free event! Come one, come all. Invite your friends. And commit to doing something challenging while knowing you’ll be supporting a good cause. If you choose, you can pay for the Chase the Moon swag - a sweet participant shirt and a glow-in-the-dark medal that we’ll ship right to your door, all for just $30.
Anyone can join across the US, Canada, and world! Ring your 3rd cousin in Scotland (or wherever), and have them join!
All packages will be sent through the post service with standard shipping. If you place your order before June 7th, we will do our best to get you your swag before June 17th. Some orders may arrive later and a few orders (incorrect address, size changes, etc) will come later in the week.
For those who ordered on or after June 7th, we will print your order as quickly as possible upon receiving your order. Orders are printed on-demand, so please be patient.
We're glad you asked. Use #ChasetheMoon hashtag on your social media posts. Feel free to tag @RagnarRelay, @100MileClub, and @NathanSports if you feel so inclined.
While you are not required to run with someone else, this challenge, like most things, is better with friends. If you are looking for people to run with, we might have a local Ragnar Ambassador in your area who is hosting a group run. Check to see the local meet-ups here!
Safety first people! We won’t be able to police everyone who participates, but we highly recommend you follow our safety guidelines for running at night. We’ll email you some tips leading up to the challenge. For your own safety, we recommend bringing a headlamp and hand flashlight as well as a reflective vest.
This challenge is all about the miles. If you prefer to walk, jog, prance or two-step on your route, don’t worry, we won’t judge.
If we meet our goal of 20 trips around the moon, Ragnar will make an $8,000 donation to the 100 Mile Club, an organization that empowers kids and families to achieve a healthy lifestyle through physical activity nationwide; preventing childhood inactivity and obesity, one child, one school, and one community at a time.
Also, any donations added to your swag pack purchase will go directly to the 100 Mile Club to support their cause!
Yes! How else will we know if you’ve run? It’s pretty straightforward. Log in to the challenge website here on June 17th and you’ll have the option to sync with Strava or manually enter your miles. Let us know if you run into any issues and we’ll help you out.
If you need to adjust or correct the mileage you submitted, just enter that amount into the manual entry option. For example, if you want to subtract 1.25 miles from your total just enter -1.25.
If you did not receive the confirmation email there are a few things you can do. First, check your junk and/or spam folders, your promotions tab in Gmail and search for “Ragnar” in your inbox.
If that doesn’t work, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Yes. Your log-in should work from Chase the Moon last year, but you will still need to register for Chase the Moon Challenge.
*Up to $8,000. We reserve the right to adjust the final donation amount up or down depending on Chase the Moon participation. For the sake of openness, the total donation amount will be announced via email and social media the day after the event.
